Senior Counsel, Regulatory Affairs
Reddit is seeking a Senior Counsel for Regulatory Affairs to join its legal team remotely within the United States. This role involves managing regulatory inquiries, analyzing new laws, and building strong relationships with regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have over five years of legal experience, including at least three years in-house, with a focus on tech platform regulations. A passion for Reddit's mission to empower communities and make knowledge accessible is essential.
Key responsibilities include managing and responding to global regulatory requests regarding Reddit's products, overseeing government and regulator discussions, reviewing proposed regulations to assess business impact, and providing legal counsel to ensure compliance with various legal frameworks. The role also involves serving as a subject matter expert on online platform regulation and collaborating with product and business teams to anticipate and plan for future regulatory risks.
Candidates should possess a law degree (JD, LLB, LLM) and be licensed in a U.S. jurisdiction, with experience in multiple jurisdictions being advantageous. A strong background in global platform compliance laws, particularly in data protection, content regulation, and child safety, is required. Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, product-forward environment, along with strong legal drafting and writing skills, is essential. Experience collaborating with regulators, especially in Europe, and the ability to build relationships across diverse teams are also important.
The base salary for this position ranges from $230,000 to $322,000 USD annually. In addition to the base salary, the role is eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units and may also be eligible for a commission, depending on the position offered.
