In this role, the Senior Counsel will lead the defense of clients facing high-value, reputation-critical litigation involving allegations of sexual misconduct, institutional liability, or related claims. Responsibilities include developing compelling case themes, independently handling court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials, and working collaboratively with a team of attorneys. The position also involves routine communication with clients, cultivating relationships with existing and future clients, and providing leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA-approved school and be licensed in the State of California. A minimum of 8 years of solid litigation experience, specifically in litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation, is required. Experience handling insurance defense matters is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is necessary. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial, and demonstrate outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

The compensation package for this position includes a base salary ranging from $160,000 to $200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional increments for higher tiers. Comprehensive benefits coverage is offered, including plans available at zero employee cost, with an average annual employer contribution for health, vision, dental, and life coverage ranging from $700 to $1,700. Additional benefits include a 401(k) program with matching contributions, student loan repayment assistance or a 529 college savings plan, paid parental leave at base pay, and a monthly technology reimbursement of $60.
