Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their New York City office. This role offers an opportunity to lead high-exposure cases within a firm renowned for its innovative approach to insurance defense and commitment to preventing Nuclear Verdicts®. The position is hybrid, requiring an active bar license in the State of New York.

The Senior Counsel will be responsible for developing compelling case themes, independently handling court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials, and collaborating with team members across various experience levels. Additional duties include routine client communications, cultivating client relationships, and providing leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA-approved law school and be licensed in the State of New York. A minimum of eight years of solid litigation experience, particularly in litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation, is required. Experience handling insurance defense matters is preferred. Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with strong time management skills, is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently, possess outstanding communication skills, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional tiers aggregating at $7,500 each. Comprehensive benefits include health, vision, dental, and life coverage, with plans available at zero employee cost. The firm offers a 401(k) program with a 100% match on the first 3% contributed and a 50% match on the following 4-5%. Additional benefits include student loan repayment assistance or a 529 college savings plan, paid parental leave, and a monthly technology reimbursement.
