Senior Data Engineer

Filevine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Engineering team, focusing on enhancing our Legal Operating Intelligence System (LOIS). This role involves designing, building, and operating data systems that power our analytics products and AI-driven customer experiences. As a remote position based in the United States, you'll collaborate closely with product, analytics, and AI engineering teams to transform raw legal and operational data into reliable, query-ready data products.

In this role, you will optimize and improve Filevine's production usage of Snowflake and Cortex features, including warehouse management, query performance tuning, and cost governance. You'll own and evolve our agentic data modeling and natural language data retrieval capabilities, build batch and streaming data pipelines, and establish reliability and governance standards. Additionally, you'll partner with product and engineering stakeholders to define event contracts and model business concepts consistently.

The ideal candidate has over five years of professional data engineering or backend engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering production-grade data systems. Significant hands-on experience operating a modern cloud data warehouse in production, such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, or Synapse, is required. Demonstrated experience building with Agentic AI or LLM-powered systems in production, expertise in advanced SQL and Python, and experience with modern data modeling and transformation tooling like dbt are also essential.
