Senior Data Engineer
WPP Media is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As part of the APAC Data Solutions Delivery team, this role involves leading technical delivery across regional data initiatives, designing scalable architectures, and building production-grade data pipelines. The Senior Data Engineer will collaborate closely with analysts, scientists, and technology stakeholders to ensure reliable and well-governed data solutions.
Key responsibilities include owning end-to-end data engineering workstreams, leading technical solution design and architecture decisions, and building and optimizing cloud-native data pipelines. The role also involves providing technical guidance to junior engineers, ensuring the implementation of monitoring, testing, and performance optimization practices, and managing delivery timelines for regional data initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of progressive experience in data engineering, with expert-level mastery of Azure Data Factory, SQL, and cloud data platforms such as Azure or GCP. Proven expertise in designing, optimizing, and managing large-scale, production-grade data pipelines is essential, along with advanced knowledge of production operations, troubleshooting, and high-availability data processing at scale.
