Senior Data Platform Engineer

BigID is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This role involves designing and maintaining our big data architecture, focusing on technologies like Kafka and Elasticsearch. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability and reliability of our data solutions.

Key responsibilities include implementing data processing pipelines using Kafka for real-time data streaming and optimizing search capabilities with Elasticsearch. The engineer will work closely with product managers and data analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Additionally, the role involves overseeing code reviews, ensuring best practices in coding and data handling, and staying updated with emerging trends in big data to recommend architectural improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree. A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering is required, including at least 5 years focused on big data technologies, particularly Elastic and Kafka. Proficiency in Java programming, a strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing are essential. Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills are also necessary.
