The Senior Data Scientist, Member Insights - Growth role at SoFi is a pivotal position within the Member Data Science team, focusing on accelerating member growth through various initiatives. In this role, the Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for defining and owning core growth KPIs, building and maintaining reliable dashboards and reports to track performance, and establishing clear success metrics across the growth funnel. Key responsibilities include conducting deep-dive analyses such as customer segmentation, funnel analysis, A/B testing, and elasticity evaluations to identify levers that optimize conversion rates. Additionally, the role involves developing models, such as propensity or uplift models, to inform targeting, prioritization, and investment decisions across growth initiatives.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience. Strong programming skills in SQL and Python or R, proficiency in Tableau, and experience with data pipeline tools like DBT and Airflow are essential. The candidate should also have expertise in experimental design, A/B testing, causal inference, data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling, and predictive modeling concepts. Excellent communication and presentation skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, are crucial.
