Senior Device Engineer (Gateway)
is seeking a Senior Device Engineer to join our Device Engineering team in Taoyuan, Taiwan. As a rapidly expanding technology company, we develop innovative cloud and device solutions that provide unified, connected services to millions of residential and commercial properties worldwide. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to design and integrate devices such as security panels, networking gateways, and video cameras, contributing to the future of the Internet of Things (IoT) for smart properties.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing board support packages, platform frameworks, and embedded Linux applications using C/C++. You will work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to design and manufacture embedded Linux devices, and with software engineers to implement features that interact seamlessly with cloud services. Additionally, you will collaborate with product managers and quality engineers to ensure that all products meet high standards, while effectively communicating and coordinating with team members to ensure timely project delivery.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 4 years of experience in embedded software development with Linux platforms is required. Proficiency in C/C++ coding, experience with board support packages, Linux kernel and drivers, and hardware bring-up are essential. Familiarity with hardware peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, and experience with cross-compilation and development frameworks like Yocto, buildroot, OpenWRT, or Android are also important. A solid understanding of electronics, the ability to read circuit schematics, and experience with debugging tools such as JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers are necessary. Knowledge of version control systems like Git is expected.
