The Senior Director, Employment Legal (EMEA and APAC) at Monks will lead the employment legal function across the EMEA and APAC regions, providing strategic guidance to support a growing, dynamic, multinational workforce. This role involves aligning global employment law strategies with regional requirements, business objectives, and company values. The position is based in London, Europe.

Key responsibilities include leading, mentoring, and developing the employment legal team to ensure consistent, high-quality advice across regions and jurisdictions. The role also involves serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on complex, high-impact employment matters, providing strategic legal guidance on hiring, workforce management, and reorganisations. Additionally, the Senior Director will partner with colleagues in NAMER and LATAM to ensure global consistency of policies and stakeholder management, manage external legal counsel, and design and implement employment policies with appropriate local customisation.

The ideal candidate should be a qualified lawyer in England & Wales with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience, demonstrating experience working across multiple jurisdictions in APAC and EMEA. A self-starter capable of shaping the direction of regional and global legal functions, with a strategic mindset to provide pragmatic and commercial advice in a fast-moving environment, is essential. The candidate should possess a working knowledge of employment laws across multiple jurisdictions in a global, matrixed organisation, significant prior in-house experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels. Experience in employment litigation is also required.
