Senior Employment and Litigation Counsel
WelbeHealth, a physician-led public benefit company founded in 2015, is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable seniors through the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). The organization operates multiple PACE centers across California, offering integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, rehabilitation, in-home services, transportation, meals, and social supports to frail seniors.
The Senior Employment & Litigation Counsel will serve as WelbeHealth’s primary legal advisor on employment law, providing strategic counsel to executive leadership on complex workforce matters, litigation risk, regulatory compliance, and employment-related business decisions across a growing, multi-state healthcare organization. This role is critical in advancing WelbeHealth's mission by proactively managing risk, leading sensitive investigations, overseeing litigation strategy, and partnering with leaders to foster a compliant, equitable, and people-centered workplace culture that supports both team members and the vulnerable seniors served.
Key responsibilities include leading and executing WelbeHealth’s employment legal strategy, managing all claims and disputes brought by third parties, overseeing sensitive internal investigations involving employee complaints and regulatory exposure, maintaining current knowledge of federal and state employment laws, developing and implementing strategies to minimize employment-related litigation risk, drafting employment-related documents, supporting training initiatives for team members on compliance and risk awareness, and working directly with outside counsel on specialized legal consultation.
The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $168,895.66 to $232,231.53 USD, plus bonus. Additional benefits encompass medical insurance coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision), 17 days of personal time off (PTO), 12 holidays observed annually, 6 sick days, 401(k) savings with match, and a comprehensive compensation package.
