(Senior) Expert Export Control

As a (Senior) Expert in Export Control, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Helsing's advanced technologies are delivered to partners in full compliance with legal and ethical requirements. This position involves close collaboration with project managers and technical teams to navigate complex national and international trade regulations.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary advisor on export controls, managing the entire application process for German export and transfer licenses, and conducting thorough foreign trade law reviews to determine licensing requirements for technology transfers, goods exports, and services. You will also oversee the management of German, EU, and U.S. authorizations, ensuring all active licenses are tracked and conditions monitored. Additionally, you will coordinate the classification of goods according to national and international regulations and secure necessary international import and end-use certificates.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in export control compliance within high-stakes environments, with a proven track record of managing complex license applications under German (BAFA) and U.S. (re-)export control laws. Technical proficiency in classifying goods and software per relevant regulations is essential, along with the ability to translate complex legal requirements into actionable advice for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A proactive approach and the capacity to take independent responsibility for projects are highly valued.
