Senior Frontend Engineer - Product/ Features (Remote across ANZ)
Canva is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on developing and enhancing product features across our platform. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely across Australia and New Zealand, aligning with our commitment to empowering our team members to choose the work environment that best suits them.
In this position, you will lead the design and development of high-performance, user-friendly interfaces using modern frontend frameworks. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, designers, and fellow engineers, you will scope, define, and deliver impactful product features. Your responsibilities will also include evolving and scaling Canva’s frontend architecture through reusable component libraries and shared design systems, while championing accessibility, performance, and engineering best practices across multiple product surfaces.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building complex, user-facing applications using modern frontend technologies, particularly React and TypeScript. A strong foundation in JavaScript and a deep understanding of the web platform are essential. You should be comfortable taking ownership of features end-to-end, from architecture to delivery, and thrive in environments where you drive the "how." Attention to detail, pragmatism, and the ability to consistently ship quality code at speed are crucial. Additionally, you should be a thoughtful collaborator who works well across disciplines, proactively bringing others on the journey, and enjoy mentoring peers to elevate the technical bar for the team.
