The Senior General Ledger Specialist at Linklaters Warsaw plays a pivotal role within the Finance team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the firm's financial records. This position involves close collaboration with local and global finance teams to maintain seamless financial operations. The role is based in Warsaw, Poland, and operates under a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities include calculating, preparing, and posting specific and ad-hoc journal entries as part of the month-end close and daily operations. The specialist will also prepare bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations for both asset and liability accounts. Maintaining fixed asset registers and calculating and posting monthly depreciation charges are also integral to the role. Additionally, the specialist will act as a deputy for the Team Leader in operational matters when required, such as daily coordination, issue escalation, and serving as a contact for key stakeholders. Ensuring service quality in daily operations within the global General Ledger Department and building strong working relationships with finance and shared service staff in local offices are essential aspects of the position.

Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in finance, preferably within a General Ledger Department in other Shared Service Centers or Business Process Outsourcing environments. A Master's Degree in Finance and Accounting or a related field is required, with additional accounting qualifications being advantageous. Proficiency in general accounting principles, practices, and procedures is essential. An understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), process documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is also necessary. Technical skills should include proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and a high level of competence in Microsoft Excel. Fluency in English is mandatory.
