Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Komodo Health is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their Infrastructure team, which is responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving the cloud-native stack (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions) and foundational systems that power the company's data ecosystem, including Snowflake for data warehousing. The team focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of these systems while driving data governance, cost and FinOps discipline, and compliance alignment (HIPAA, SOC2). This role is integral to maintaining a seamless and performant data access, processing, and analysis environment for the teams that depend on them.
In this role, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer will operate and optimize Snowflake environments in production, monitor warehouse consumption and costs, administer RBAC and metadata tagging for cost attribution, and address query-performance issues and internal requests. The engineer will build and operate AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure as code using Terraform, deployed via GitOps with ArgoCD, and maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions. Additionally, the engineer will drive infrastructure optimization across performance, scalability, and cost through FinOps practices, tagging, and cost attribution, and will harden cloud infrastructure by implementing least-privilege IAM and RBAC, networking, secrets management, and compliance alignment. The role also involves building and maintaining centralized observability for metrics, logs, and alerting, and participating in the shared US-business-hours on-call rotation while collaborating closely with developer, security, and data teams.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse in a production setting, including SQL, warehouse operations, and query-performance fundamentals. Proficiency in building and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS with attention to security and cost is essential, as is expertise in infrastructure-as-code with Terraform. Experience with containerization and Kubernetes (Docker, k8s) is required, along with scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, or Bash, and experience with CI/CD pipelines and at least one tool (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, Harness, etc.). Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or AWS Bedrock, with careful validation of generated output, is also necessary. Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fast-paced environment are crucial.
Compensation for this role includes an annual base salary ranging from $181,000 to $220,000 USD, depending on location and experience.
