Senior Legal Counsel

Actian is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its legal team. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support across various facets of the company's operations, including drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements, ensuring compliance with global regulations, and advising on legal matters pertinent to the software industry. Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and presenting for execution various agreements such as vendor contracts, customer order contracts, SaaS and software license agreements, software development agreements, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, and documentation for engineering teams. The role also involves providing legal support for global human resources operations, including compliance with regulations like GDPR and the EU AI Act, and assisting with office-related and customer compliance matters, including employee policies and internal HR regulations.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years of transactional experience in the software industry, with a strong background in drafting and negotiating standard and vendor order agreements, SaaS, and software license contracts. Experience or exposure in computer science or intellectual property licensing is preferred. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a professional demeanor with a willingness to learn and develop new areas of expertise are essential.
