Senior Legal Counsel Energy
BESIX Group, a leading multidisciplinary Belgian company active in construction, real estate development, and concessions, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for its BESIX Power division. This role focuses on supporting the development, financing, and acquisition of renewable energy projects worldwide, contributing to the company's commitment to sustainable and responsible practices.
The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and implementing a wide range of agreements related to the development of renewable energy projects. This includes confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, partnership and joint venture agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, procurement contracts, power purchase agreements, land agreements, financing agreements, and share purchase agreements. Additionally, the role involves assisting in project acquisitions, conducting due diligence, supporting the structuring of M&A operations, and preparing legal documentation for responses to calls for tenders. The counsel will also coordinate and supervise external law firms and monitor relevant regulations.
The ideal candidate holds a university degree in law with a strong academic track record and possesses seven to ten years of relevant experience in contract drafting and negotiation, commercial law, and corporate law. Experience within international infrastructure or energy companies, particularly in contract management for energy projects, is highly desirable. The candidate should be comfortable handling complex projects and documentation, fluent in English, and possess outstanding drafting skills, strong interpersonal and communication abilities, and a methodical approach with attention to detail.
