Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Content ML (AU remote)

Canva is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join its Content Machine Learning team, focusing on automating content moderation and review processes. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and quality of Canva's extensive content library, which serves a diverse global user base. In this role, the engineer will research, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions to streamline content moderation. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical visions, breaking down and delivering large-scale projects, and engaging in hands-on software development alongside leads, designers, and product managers. The engineer will also foster a collaborative team culture through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and process improvements, while staying abreast of industry trends to drive innovation.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in machine learning engineering within a Product or SaaS company. Proficiency in understanding text, image, video, and audio content is highly desirable. Experience working cross-functionally with product managers and other business units is essential, as is a track record of proposing and implementing automation initiatives that incorporate human-in-the-loop processes.
