Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Content ML (AU remote)

Canva is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join its Content Machine Learning team, dedicated to ensuring the safety and quality of content at scale. This team focuses on developing models and human-in-the-loop workflows to enhance content review processes, aiming to build an automated review system with human oversight for continuous improvement.

In this role, the engineer will research, develop, and deploy AI-based solutions to automate content moderation and review. Responsibilities include collaborating with diverse stakeholders to guide technical vision, breaking down and delivering large projects, and engaging in hands-on software development alongside leads, designers, and product managers. The position also involves fostering a healthy team environment through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and process improvements, while promoting a culture of collaboration and open communication.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of industry experience in a machine learning engineering role within a Product or SaaS company. Proficiency in text, image, video, and audio understanding is highly desirable. Experience working cross-functionally with Product Managers and other business functions is essential, as is a background in proposing and implementing automation initiatives with human-in-the-loop processes.
