The Senior Manager of Business Development (Health Care and Life Sciences) at Crowell & Moring is a strategic role within the firm's Transactional Department, focusing on the Corporate, Financial Services, and Tax Practice Groups. This position collaborates closely with department and practice group leaders to develop and execute business development plans, aiming to expand existing client relationships and attract new clients in the health care and life sciences sectors. The role also involves enhancing the firm's market visibility and brand presence in these industries.
Key responsibilities include partnering with practice leaders to create annual business development strategies, proactively engaging with attorneys to understand their expertise and client needs, and contributing to the development of marketing materials such as pitch documents and proposals. The Senior Manager also analyzes business intelligence to inform initiatives, supports client service teams, and collaborates with marketing and recruiting leadership to develop messaging and strategies for lateral recruiting efforts. Additionally, the role involves planning and executing client development events and thought leadership initiatives.
Candidates should have a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in business development, preferably within a transactional environment. Strong business and marketing acumen, including the ability to leverage business intelligence and financial data, is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and experience with knowledge management systems, including CRM and experience management. Leadership experience, including guiding and mentoring a team, is also important.
Compensation for this position ranges from $167,000 to $220,000 annually, with additional compensation potentially including a discretionary bonus. The salary may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
