Wilson Elser, a prominent defense litigation law firm with over 1,300 attorneys across 43 offices nationwide, is seeking a Senior Professional Liability Attorney to join its esteemed Accounting Practice. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and can be based in any state where the firm has an office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in defending accounting professionals and firms, addressing the complex legal, regulatory, and business challenges inherent in the accounting industry.

The attorney will serve as lead counsel in cases involving accounting malpractice, ethics proceedings, regulatory compliance, and other disputes commonly faced by accounting firms. Responsibilities include advising clients on risk management, ethics, licensing, partnership matters, mergers and acquisitions, and internal governance. Additionally, the role involves managing and expanding client relationships with a focus on long-term strategic engagement, collaborating across practice groups to provide comprehensive legal solutions, mentoring junior attorneys, and representing the firm through thought leadership and professional engagements within the accounting sector.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. A minimum of 10 years of experience in litigating and advising on issues affecting accounting professionals and firms is required. Experience representing accounting firms and accountants before the SEC, PCAOB, AICPA, and state boards of accountancy is expected. An existing portable book of business is preferred, along with demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-party litigation and advise on sophisticated corporate and regulatory matters. National-level experience and familiarity with class action and multistate matters are also preferred.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $190,000 to $225,000 annually, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
