Senior Robotics Software Engineer, Mobile Robot Orchestration
Intrinsic, an AI robotics group at Google, is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer specializing in mobile robot orchestration. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of roboticists and software developers to advance the capabilities of mobile robots in complex, dynamic environments. The position is based in Singapore.
In this role, you will develop high-performance multi-agent pathfinding algorithms to enable hundreds to thousands of robots to operate efficiently in densely packed factories and warehouses. You will design robust behaviors for fleets of mobile robots to interact seamlessly with automated doors, elevators, and robot workcells. Your work will be deployed in various dynamic environments, including factories, warehouses, malls, hospitals, campuses, and commercial buildings. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Open Robotics community to shape open specifications for mobile robot interoperability.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, with proficiency in systems programming languages such as C++, Python, or Rust. Demonstrable experience with autonomous mobile robots (e.g., MiR, OTTO, Geek+) and expertise in programming reactive software systems are essential. Experience in architecting distributed multi-agent systems using ROS, Zenoh, MQTT, gRPC, or REST APIs is also required.
While not mandatory, a Master's or Doctoral degree relevant to mobile robot orchestration, peer-reviewed research papers related to multi-agent pathfinding, expertise in the Rust programming language, experience deploying large-scale mobile robot traffic systems, and experience deploying mobile robots in human-centric environments will differentiate your candidacy. Comfort engaging with diverse stakeholders to assimilate broad perspectives and build consensus is also beneficial.
