Senior Scientist to Principal Scientist, In-vivo Biology
Structure Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Scientist to Principal Scientist specializing in In-vivo Biology to join our Discovery Unit in Shanghai, China. This role is pivotal in advancing our research pipeline and drug discovery projects, focusing on obesity, metabolic diseases, and related areas. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, oversee, and interpret in vivo studies, contributing significantly to project success.
Key responsibilities include establishing and coordinating in vivo studies and related analytical readouts, leading biology efforts to drive discovery projects toward achieving milestones, and designing and executing in vivo pharmacology studies to support target validation and drug candidate discovery. The role also involves managing outsourced studies with CROs and academic collaborators, reviewing and interpreting data to inform program decisions, and presenting scientific findings at internal and external meetings.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field with at least 2 years of post-doctoral experience; industrial experience is preferred. Hands-on experience in in vivo pharmacology and assays is essential, along with a deep understanding of obesity and metabolic disease-related physiology and pathology. Experience in translational teams, drug target discovery and validation, and progressing molecules into lead optimization is advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams are required.
