Senior Security Operations Engineer

Gong is seeking a Senior Security Operations Engineer to enhance the security posture of its AI-driven revenue intelligence platform. This role involves leading the development and implementation of security measures across Gong's multi-cloud environments, ensuring robust protection for the company's data and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include orchestrating SIEM and SOAR tools to automate security tasks, proactively identifying and mitigating potential threats, and developing custom detection logic using YARA rules and Sigma signatures. The engineer will also manage security across AWS, GCP, and Azure platforms, analyze threat intelligence, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with IT, DevOps, and Privacy teams to address security gaps.

Candidates should have over five years of experience in areas such as Security Data Pipeline Engineering, Detection Engineering, SIEM Engineering, Cyber Intelligence, or Security Platform Engineering. Proficiency with EDR/XDR tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne), Cloud Security Posture Management tools (e.g., Wiz, Prisma Cloud), and WAFs (e.g., Cloudflare, Akamai) is required. Experience with CI/CD methodologies, custom detection logic development, and familiarity with attack frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK are also essential.

Preferred qualifications include security certifications such as GXPN, GCIA, GCTI, or GCDA, experience with automation pipelines using Python or Go, knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, and experience in securing and monitoring containers within cloud environments.
