🚀 Senior Software Engineer, Cart & Checkout
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Cart & Checkout team at Wolt, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the customer ordering experience. This team is responsible for the critical path from the moment a customer adds items to their cart to the final order confirmation, operating across 29 countries and handling millions of daily transactions. Wolt, a technology company founded in 2014, has expanded from restaurant food delivery to offering a wide range of products and services, now operating in over 500 cities across 30 countries.
In this role, you will design and improve backend services that are integral to the cart and checkout processes. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining high-reliability infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new features, and ensuring seamless integration with other systems. You will also be at the forefront of AI-native engineering, designing workflows where AI agents handle entire task loops and building internal tools to enhance AI-assisted development.
The ideal candidate will have strong backend engineering fundamentals, with experience in building and shipping services that run at scale. Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, or Go is essential, as these are the primary languages used in our stack. A genuine enthusiasm for AI-first development is crucial, as is the ability to take responsibility for outcomes end-to-end and collaborate effectively across teams and time zones.
