Senior Software Engineer
Conga is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its dynamic team in Sofia, Bulgaria. This role involves designing and developing full-stack solutions for Conga's cloud-native, microservices-based platform, emphasizing scalability, performance, and usability. The successful candidate will collaborate with an international team of engineers, product managers, and designers to define system functionality and plan future development sprints.
Key responsibilities include building reusable backend services using Java 11+ and creating modern, responsive user interfaces with React. The engineer will partner with technical leads and architects to align implementations with industry best practices and company standards across both backend and frontend layers. Additional duties involve contributing to front-end architecture, state management, and component design to ensure a high-quality user experience. The role also encompasses participating in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing, as well as providing technical mentorship to junior engineers.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience developing large-scale, complex applications with Java and modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably React. Strong expertise in backend development, including multi-threading, messaging, streaming, performance optimization, and horizontal scalability, is essential. Proficiency in building REST APIs and integrating them with frontend applications is required. Experience with HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL and NoSQL databases, and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and microservices architecture are also necessary. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with a proactive mindset and willingness to work across the full technology stack, are highly valued.
