Senior Software Engineer - Edge-Services Security
The Senior Software Engineer - Edge-Services Security at StubHub will be a key member of the Edge Services team, responsible for designing, implementing, and operating content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure using AWS CloudFront, Global Accelerator, and related services. This role focuses on enhancing StubHub's global infrastructure to ensure a secure and high-performance experience for millions of fans worldwide.
Key responsibilities include developing scalable systems to detect and mitigate malicious automated traffic, utilizing both commercial bot management platforms and proprietary controls. The engineer will also create reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules to enable consistent and safe deployment of edge services across teams. Collaboration with security and platform teams is essential to enforce zero-trust controls, request validation, and origin shielding, as well as integrating fraud detection pipelines for real-time blocking or scoring decisions at the edge.
Candidates should have expert-level experience with AWS edge and networking services such as CloudFront, WAF, Route53, Shield, and Global Accelerator. Proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices is required, along with deep experience in implementing enterprise-grade bot management platforms. A strong background in software development using modern languages like Python, Go, TypeScript, or Java is essential. Additional qualifications include familiarity with HTTP/2, QUIC, and emerging transport protocols, as well as experience in building and scaling fraud prevention systems.
This position offers a hybrid work environment, with three days in the office and two days remote, based in New York, NY, Century City, CA, or Aliso Viejo, CA.
