Senior Software Engineer - Edge-Services Security
StubHub is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Edge Services team, focusing on enhancing the global infrastructure that connects millions of fans securely and efficiently. This role involves working on advanced Content Delivery Network (CDN) architecture, sophisticated bot mitigation strategies, and real-time fraud defenses, collaborating closely with security and platform teams to drive innovation at a massive scale. The position is available in New York, NY; Century City, CA; or Aliso Viejo, CA, with a hybrid work model of three days in the office and two days remote.
In this role, you will design, implement, and operate CDN infrastructure using AWS services such as CloudFront, Global Accelerator, and related technologies. Your responsibilities include developing scalable systems to detect and mitigate malicious automated traffic, creating reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules to enable consistent deployment of edge services, and integrating with fraud detection pipelines for real-time blocking or scoring decisions at the edge. Collaboration with security and platform teams to enforce zero-trust controls, request validation, and origin shielding is also a key aspect of this position.
Ideal candidates will have expert-level experience with AWS edge and networking services, including CloudFront, WAF, Route53, Shield, and Global Accelerator. Proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code patterns in production environments is essential. A deep understanding of enterprise-grade bot management platforms, such as HUMAN, AWS Bot Control, Cloudflare Bot Management, or Akamai Bot Manager, is required. Strong software development skills in modern programming languages like Python, Go, TypeScript, or Java are necessary, along with a proven track record of building safe, observable, and performant infrastructure at scale.
The compensation package for this role includes a base salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
