Canva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java to join the Canva AI Group. This team is responsible for the core product experiences and the conductor platform that powers Canva AI, aiming to deliver intuitive conversational experiences that empower users worldwide to generate diverse content effortlessly. The role is open to remote candidates across Australia and New Zealand, offering flexibility in work location.
In this position, you will be hands-on in implementing critical code, driving complex projects from inception to production. Collaboration with various teams across Canva is essential to evolve Canva AI into a platform that seamlessly integrates diverse capabilities. Mentoring and guiding backend engineers, introducing best practices to uphold engineering excellence, and improving system reliability are key aspects of the role. Additionally, you will act as a thought leader, guiding platform strategy by understanding stakeholder pain points and proactively identifying issues to minimize friction.
