Senior Software Engineer, Labor Planning & Forecasting

The Senior Software Engineer, Labor Planning & Forecasting, will join a dynamic team responsible for developing and evolving Legion's high-performance, data-driven Java enterprise application. This application implements sophisticated scheduling and optimization algorithms and provides essential endpoints for web and mobile frontend applications.
In this role, the engineer will develop features with high quality and timeliness, ensuring a thorough understanding of the product area. They will collaborate with the CTO and architects to assist in feature design, develop features with a focus on performance and user experience, and take ownership of product quality by writing unit tests and working with QA engineers for end-to-end testing. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for fixing incoming bugs daily, adhering to bug resolution goals and SLAs, and demonstrating the Legion product end-to-end.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with 7-8 years of experience in backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and MySQL. Experience in building multi-tenant SaaS applications, designing and building APIs, and delivering software in a cloud-based environment (AWS, GCP, Azure) is essential. Proficiency in Java or C++, object-oriented design skills, and application architecture and design patterns are required. Experience in developing distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications, along with the ability to lead projects from inception to production, is preferred.
