Senior Software Engineer (Los Angeles, CA)
StubHub is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. This role focuses on designing and maintaining core engineering infrastructure, including shared frameworks, internal platforms, and foundational system components used across development teams. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for up to two days of telecommuting per week, with the requirement to report to the Los Angeles office when not working remotely.
Key responsibilities include developing and improving enterprise-level architectural patterns that support system scalability, reliability, and maintainability. The engineer will build and refine shared services and backend infrastructure to enable consistent service-to-service communication and system integration. Additional duties involve reviewing system designs across teams to ensure alignment with established architectural standards and performance requirements, as well as identifying structural system limitations and implementing infrastructure-level improvements to enhance stability and efficiency.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or its U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with at least two years of professional experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer. Experience in developing robust, mission-critical systems using programming languages such as C/C++, Java, C#, Rust, React, or other object-oriented programming languages is required. Proficiency in designing and optimizing distributed systems, including microservices architectures built with Java and Spring Boot, implementing Redis-based caching strategies, and leveraging Kafka for event-driven message queuing is essential. The role also demands experience in analyzing and enhancing system scalability, reliability, and performance metrics, as well as designing and developing solutions to complex problems with significant business impact.
The compensation package includes a base annual salary ranging from $94,973 to $250,000 USD, depending on qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Additional benefits encompass equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
