Senior Software Engineer, Perception
Aurora Innovation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Perception team, focusing on developing and enhancing the perception capabilities of the Aurora Driver. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and validate perception algorithms that enable autonomous vehicles to interpret and navigate complex environments. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Perception autonomy team to ideate and implement perception algorithms, serving as a technical expert in areas such as machine learning, computer vision, and state estimation. The role also involves researching and developing advanced deep learning models to improve perception solutions under diverse scenarios, designing and evaluating machine learning algorithms for object detection and scene understanding, and integrating production-ready solutions into the Aurora Driver's codebase. Additionally, the engineer will drive performance improvements and own validation for specific perception capabilities.
Candidates should possess excellent software engineering skills in Python and/or C++, with extensive experience in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow. A strong background in computer vision, machine learning, or related areas of artificial intelligence is essential. Desirable qualifications include relevant industry experience in self-driving vehicles, contributions to open-source projects, and a strong track record in machine learning, evidenced by top-tier publications.
The base salary range for this position is $168,000 to $252,000 per year, with eligibility for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
