Senior Software Engineer, Platform

The Senior Software Engineer, Platform role is integral to developing core components within one of Branch's engineering pods, focusing on building scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing backend services, ensuring their performance, scalability, and uptime. You will conduct design and code reviews, promote engineering excellence, and collaborate with product management, customer success, and support teams to deliver optimal user experiences. A key aspect of the position involves creating consistent and cohesive REST APIs and employing domain-driven service design to facilitate and orchestrate service contracts.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in building distributed and scalable software, with a strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software design. Proficiency in Java and Java-based microservices with Spring Boot is essential, along with experience in designing and supporting customer-facing RESTful APIs. Additional qualifications include expertise in relational database design (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle), unit and integration testing (JUnit, Mockito), and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git-flow, and SonarQube for CI/CD.
The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $160,000 to $170,000, with additional benefits such as market-leading medical, dental, and vision insurance, stock options, a free Premium-Tier Origin Financial Wellness subscription, a monthly home-office stipend, 401(k) plan, 12 weeks of paid parental leave, flexible time off, and 11 paid company holidays.
