Senior Software Engineer – Quality Engineering
ID.me is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Testing Tools team in Mountain View, California. This role focuses on designing and maintaining automation frameworks and testing infrastructure to ensure the reliability and security of ID.me's digital identity platform. The company is committed to providing secure digital identity solutions, serving over 175 million users across various federal agencies, state governments, and healthcare organizations.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Python, Jest, and API automation. You will design end-to-end and integration testing strategies for complex, asynchronous, event-driven systems, including workflow orchestration platforms like Temporal. Additionally, you will implement testing-in-production practices, such as canary deployments and automated rollback triggers, to validate real-world behavior safely before full release. Collaboration with engineering, product, and security teams is essential to enhance the quality and resilience of the platform.
The ideal candidate should have over 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in modern web applications and distributed systems. Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Java is required, along with hands-on experience with Playwright, Jest, and API automation. Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions or ArgoCD, is also necessary. A deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and authentication/authorization flows is crucial.
