Senior Software Engineer SDK
The Senior Software Engineer SDK position at PlayStation Global involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing the framework that powers a diverse set of user experiences across multiple platforms. This role is integral to ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of PlayStation's software development kits (SDKs), contributing directly to the company's mission of delivering exceptional gaming experiences.
Key responsibilities include implementing and improving framework features and SDKs across various platforms, collaborating with application teams to meet feature and performance requirements. The engineer will build clean, well-documented, and reusable APIs to simplify integration with platform services, ensure SDKs are performant and backward-compatible, and create and maintain developer documentation, sample applications, and integration guides. Additionally, the role involves debugging and resolving integration issues reported by partner teams or SDK consumers and continuously improving SDK usability and adoption.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 3-5 years of professional software development experience. Proficiency in writing high-performance code in C++ is essential, along with experience in JavaScript and/or TypeScript using popular frameworks like React, Angular, or Ember. A solid understanding of API design principles, versioning, and backward compatibility is required. Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools is also necessary.
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with React Native, experience building and shipping SDKs or developer-facing platforms, and development experience on multiple platforms such as Linux, Android, or Windows. Knowledge of package management and distribution tools like Maven, Gradle, CocoaPods, npm, or Conan is advantageous. Experience working on cross-platform SDKs for Android, iOS, Web, or desktop is also beneficial.
The estimated base pay range for this role is $193,300 to $289,900 USD annually.
