Senior Software Engineer
SecurityScorecard is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform team. In this role, you will be a strategic, hands-on technical leader responsible for evolving the foundational systems that power our core products. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to build scalable services, optimize infrastructure, and improve internal tooling, ensuring our platform evolves with scale in mind.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will architect, design, and build scalable platform components using Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and React. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining distributed systems, real-time pipelines, and core microservices to support platform growth. You will lead code and architecture reviews to uphold high standards for reliability, performance, and maintainability, and contribute to the adoption of modern infrastructure practices such as CI/CD, containerization (Docker), ArgoCD, Terraform, and GitHub Actions. Additionally, you will own and deliver impactful projects end-to-end, translating business needs and R&D insights into scalable technical solutions.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend systems, platform services, or infrastructure. Expertise in Node.js and modern development patterns (TypeScript/JavaScript) is essential, along with solid experience designing and scaling distributed systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and production-grade deployments is required, as well as proficiency with CI/CD, monitoring, and containerization tools such as Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, and New Relic. Strong computer science fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring and knowledge-sharing are also important.
SecurityScorecard offers a competitive salary, stock options, health benefits, unlimited PTO, parental leave, tuition reimbursements, and more. The estimated total compensation range for this position is $160,000 - $185,000 (base plus bonus). Actual compensation is based on factors including skills, qualifications, and experience, and may vary from the range. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based incentive compensation awards and equity, among other company benefits.
