Senior SQL Server Database Administrator
The Senior SQL Server Database Administrator will manage SQL Server databases across multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. This role involves configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, monitoring system health and performance, and ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security. The position is based in Kraków, Poland, within EBS Sp. z o.o., a subsidiary of a leading global provider of intelligent security solutions.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing multi-site Microsoft SQL Server Always On configurations, tracking and resolving database-related incidents and requests within service level agreements, and planning and performing both automated and attended database maintenance activities. The role also involves implementing monitoring, auditing, data backup, and recovery solutions, maintaining the integrity of the company's security and compliance programs related to database infrastructure, and providing technical direction to engineering teams on best practices for deploying applications.
Candidates must possess a B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or a related engineering field, along with over 15 years of experience in database implementations and support of Microsoft SQL Server in highly available and transactional environments. Expertise in SQL Server Always On and other high-availability database features is essential. Additional requirements include experience in troubleshooting and resolving various database issues, performance tuning, query optimization, and implementing operational automation. Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, and SQL development is also necessary.
