Senior/Staff Consultant, Research
Komodo Health is seeking a Senior/Staff Consultant, Research to join their Evidence Intelligence team. This team applies health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) methods to real-world healthcare data, generating insights that inform decisions for leading life sciences, provider, and payer organizations. The role operates at the intersection of clinical science, data analytics, and client strategy, increasingly leveraging AI to enhance both speed and quality. The Senior/Staff Consultant will serve as both an analytic lead and a trusted advisor, comfortable with study design, methodology defense, and translating findings into actionable strategies for executive stakeholders.
In this role, the consultant will design and execute research studies using real-world healthcare data, applying both traditional statistical methods and emerging AI-enabled techniques. They will lead client conversations and working sessions, presenting findings, addressing questions in real time, and adjusting analyses based on client feedback. The consultant will distill complex datasets into clear, actionable insights, communicating them through reports, presentations, and discussions tailored to both technical and executive audiences. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including product, data science, clinical, and sales—is essential to integrate research insights into product development and strategy. Additionally, the consultant will evaluate and pilot new AI tools, providing enablement and specialist support for Komodo's AI platform, Marmot, to improve research speed, quality, and client responsiveness.
Candidates should possess a PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a quantitative field such as epidemiology, biostatistics, or health economics, or have equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare research or analytics is required, preferably in a client-facing consulting or industry setting. Demonstrated client relationship management skills are essential, including experience leading dialogue with client stakeholders, managing expectations, and translating ambiguous questions into clear research plans. Experience conducting end-to-end real-world evidence (RWE) and HEOR studies, from design through dissemination using descriptive and sophisticated analysis methods such as propensity score matching (PSM) and inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW), is necessary. AI-native fluency or a strong willingness to adapt is important, with hands-on experience using AI or large language model (LLM) tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini, internal AI assistants) to accelerate research and analysis, or a demonstrated track record of quickly learning and adopting new AI tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to distill complex findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and executive audiences. A proven track record of leading and executing research projects from inception to completion is also essential.
The compensation for this role includes an annual base salary ranging from $112,000 to $190,000, depending on experience and location. Additional benefits include performance-based bonuses, equity awards, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible time off and holidays, 401(k) with company match, disability insurance, and life insurance.
