Senior / Staff Product Manager - IoT Connected Devices
Motive is seeking a Senior / Staff Product Manager to lead the hardware and firmware strategy for its connected equipment-monitoring devices. This role is integral to the Equipment Monitoring line, which includes devices such as the Asset Gateway, Motive Beacon, and Environmental Sensor. The position is based in Vancouver, Canada, and offers a hybrid work environment.
In this role, you will own the hardware and firmware roadmap, drive new product introductions from concept through mass production, and manage the reliability and performance of deployed devices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, cloud, mobile, and go-to-market teams, to translate customer needs into technical requirements and product decisions.
The ideal candidate will have over six years of product management experience, with a proven track record in shipping IoT, telematics, tracking, or connected hardware products from concept through mass production. Strong technical fluency in battery-powered connected systems, including MCUs/SoCs, power management, RF and antenna design, GNSS, cellular (LTE-M, NB-IoT, 4G, 5G), BLE, and environmental ratings is essential. Experience in managing firmware roadmaps, OTA strategy, device provisioning, telemetry design, and observability for harsh, bandwidth-constrained deployments is also required.
Compensation for this role ranges from $180,000 to $248,000 USD annually, depending on experience and location. Benefits include health, pharmacy, optical, and dental coverage, paid and sick time off, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility.
