Senior Trademark Paralegal
The Senior Trademark Paralegal at Authentic Brands Group provides essential support to attorneys and internal teams in managing the company's extensive trademark portfolio. This role is designed for a highly experienced professional who can onboard quickly, work independently, and serve as a resource and informal mentor to junior paralegals. The Senior Trademark Paralegal assists the IP team with all phases of U.S. and international trademark prosecution—from pre-filing to maintenance of registered trademarks—and also supports enforcement and opposition matters. The ideal candidate will bring advanced knowledge of trademark processes and contribute to team-wide initiatives and process improvements.
Key responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and updating U.S. and international trademark and patent prosecution and opposition files in both physical and electronic records management systems, including WebTMS. The role involves regular correspondence with foreign counsel on new trademark applications and routine prosecution matters, leading special projects and team-wide paralegal matters, and creating and updating docket reports. Additionally, the Senior Trademark Paralegal reviews the docket daily to track all deadlines associated with trademark prosecution, oppositions, customs recordals, and enforcement matters. Preparing powers of attorney and related documents for trademark assignments, gathering and organizing evidence of use to support pending applications and oppositions, and preparing status reports for attorneys and internal teams are also key duties. The role includes assisting in quality assurance reviews of trademark records and correspondence, checking and updating the status of trademark cases with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and foreign trademark offices, providing guidance and informal mentorship to junior paralegals, identifying opportunities to improve workflows, and serving as a point of contact for complex trademark matters and escalations.
The position requires at least 3+ years of relevant trademark paralegal experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize workload. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and problem-solve effectively. Relevant work experience in intellectual property is required, along with experience supporting IP attorneys. The ability to ramp up efficiently and demonstrate early ownership of key responsibilities is essential. Experience mentoring or training junior team members is a plus, as are strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually.
