The Senior Trader at SeatGeek IQ is a pivotal role responsible for managing pricing strategies, inventory positions, and maintaining strong relationships with major sports and entertainment partners. This position reports directly to the Director of SeatGeek IQ and operates within a team that emphasizes automation and AI to streamline analytical processes, allowing traders to focus on strategic decision-making.
Key responsibilities include setting and defending pricing strategies, adjusting prices throughout the event lifecycle, and making informed decisions about inventory management. The role also involves mentoring junior traders, analyzing market behaviors, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Regular travel, approximately 20% of the year, is expected for partner site visits, live events, industry conferences, and team offsites.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, statistics, sports management, or a related field, along with over five years of experience in ticket pricing, revenue management, or a similar analytical commercial role. A minimum of two years managing client or partner relationships is essential, preferably within sports, live entertainment, or dynamic-pricing industries. Proficiency in data analysis tools and a strong understanding of market dynamics are crucial.
Compensation for this role includes a salary range of $112,000 to $162,000 USD, along with equity stakes and discretionary annual bonuses.
