Senior Trial Attorney
Wilson Elser, a prominent defense litigation law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices nationwide, is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney to join its Houston, Texas office. The Senior Trial Attorney will independently manage a complex defense litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including trial, mediation, or negotiated settlement. Responsibilities include developing and implementing case strategies, drafting and arguing substantive motions, conducting depositions, managing written discovery, and working closely with expert witnesses. The attorney will also represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings, while providing strategic legal advice and regular case status updates to clients.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in Texas. A minimum of 15 years of experience in insurance defense, premises liability, catastrophic loss, and/or general liability is required, with trial experience preferred. Superior analytical skills, strong written and oral communication abilities, and legal project management experience are essential. Experience in negligent security cases is a plus.
