Senior Valves & Actuators Engineer
Stoke Space is seeking a Senior Valves & Actuators Engineer to join their Valves and Actuators team in Kent, Washington. This team is dedicated to designing, developing, testing, and producing various in-house and purchased valves and actuators for the Nova launch vehicle. The role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace technology within a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
In this position, you will be responsible for defining, designing, manufacturing, testing, and qualifying valve designs for both the stages and engines of the Nova launch vehicle. Your tasks will include collecting design requirements from multidisciplinary teams, creating concepts for valves and actuators, modeling parts using Siemens NX CAD software, performing structural and fluid analysis, and developing manufacturing plans for high-rate production environments. Additionally, you will be involved in valve and actuator builds on the production floor, execute testing procedures, coordinate with suppliers, and collaborate with vehicle fluids, engines, and GNC teams to troubleshoot hardware issues.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in the design, build, and testing of valves for aerospace or industrial applications. Hands-on experience in fabrication and assembly of components is essential. A strong command of fundamentals, including compressible flow, thermodynamics, structures, control systems, cryogenics, and instrumentation, is required. Proficiency with CAD tools, particularly Siemens NX, and configuration management systems like Teamcenter is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, and candidates must be willing to relocate to Seattle, WA.
Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $151,305 to $327,810 per year, depending on experience and skill level.
