Site Reliability Engineer
As a Site Reliability Engineer at Helsing, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing on-premise Kubernetes infrastructure within high-security environments. Helsing is a defense AI company dedicated to protecting democracies through technological leadership, enabling open societies to maintain sovereign decisions and ethical standards. Our team comprises engineers, AI specialists, and program managers committed to solving complex and impactful problems in defense technology.
In this role, you will design and build cloud-native infrastructure platforms on-premises, focusing on Kubernetes-based solutions that enable development teams to operate services at scale. Your responsibilities include creating robust observability frameworks using tools like Grafana and Prometheus to ensure system reliability and performance. Additionally, you will architect secure, multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters with strong access controls and develop automation tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in scripting languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or Bash/Shell for automation and tooling. Proficiency with GitOps workflows, CI/CD automation, and deep expertise in operating production Kubernetes clusters are essential. Familiarity with cloud-native technologies, observability stacks, networking concepts, MLOps platforms, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Ansible is also required. A strong understanding of Linux/Unix system administration and distributed systems is crucial.
Helsing offers a focus on outcomes rather than time-tracking, competitive compensation and stock options, relocation support, social and education allowances, and regular company events to foster team cohesion across Europe. Our hands-on onboarding program, "Infraduction," provides an opportunity to learn our tech stack and collaborate with engineering teams from day one.
We embrace an open and transparent culture that encourages healthy debates on the use of technology in defense, its benefits, and ethical implications. Helsing is committed to equal employment opportunities and encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds, even if they do not meet all listed qualifications, as ability and impact cannot be summarized in a few bullet points.
