Software Engineer - Ground to Air HMI

Helsing is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Ground to Air HMI team, focusing on developing software that enables air forces to operate autonomous systems during missions. This role involves creating software that functions reliably under complex technical constraints and in rapidly changing environments, ensuring seamless operation for mission planning, command and control, and mission debriefing.

Key responsibilities include reviewing code contributions, proposing and implementing new features across our technology stack, and maintaining our existing software infrastructure. The role also involves mentoring team members, sharing technical knowledge, and developing comprehensive tests and benchmarks to ensure software robustness.

The ideal candidate will have experience writing legible, maintainable, and performant code, strong communication skills in English, and a collaborative approach to software development. Familiarity with backend interface tools such as REST APIs, gRPC/Protocol Buffers, and Arrow is essential. A commitment to continuous improvement and ethical considerations in engineering is highly valued.
