Software Engineer II - Platform Anti-Abuse
Klaviyo is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Platform Anti-Abuse (PAA) team within the Core Infrastructure – Identity & Organizations (Core IO) pillar. This team is dedicated to safeguarding Klaviyo's customers and brand by preventing fraud, abuse, and violations of the company's Acceptable Use Policy across all channels. The PAA team develops automated detection systems, enforcement services, and platform tools to maintain the integrity and security of Klaviyo's platform.
In this role, the engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining features related to abuse detection and enforcement. This includes developing rules engines, classifiers, enforcement pipelines, and platform services that integrate with various product teams. The engineer will also work on extending abuse enforcement to new product areas, building content and link abuse detection systems, and contributing to the automation of Acceptable Use Policy enforcement. Collaboration with teams such as Identity & Access Management, Organizations, Security, and Compliance is essential to ensure consistent policy application and platform safety.
The ideal candidate has 2-5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with proficiency in Python or Go, and experience in building and operating backend or service-oriented systems. A strong understanding of detection, classification, or enforcement systems, as well as exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows, is required. Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, compliance or policy enforcement domains, and observability stacks is beneficial. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a collaborative mindset are key attributes for success in this role.
Klaviyo offers a competitive base salary ranging from $116,000 to $174,000 USD, along with benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k), flexible paid time off, and company-paid holidays.
