Sr Data Platform Engineer - MongoDB
GHX is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer specializing in MongoDB to join their team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining MongoDB databases to support GHX's Data as a Service (DaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. The position offers flexibility with options for remote work or an office location within the United States.
In this role, the Senior Data Platform Engineer will be responsible for architecting and managing MongoDB replica sets, sharded clusters, and standalone instances across various environments, including production, staging, and development. Key duties include capacity planning, performance tuning, and implementing backup and recovery strategies. The engineer will also automate deployment and maintenance tasks using Infrastructure as Code tools and collaborate with development teams to ensure database solutions meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 5-8 years of experience in database administration, including at least 3 years of hands-on MongoDB experience. Expertise in MongoDB architecture, performance tuning, and backup strategies is essential. Experience with AWS cloud services, Linux/Unix operating systems, and automation tools like Terraform or Ansible is also required.
