Sr. Director, Infrastructure, SRE, & Security
Komodo Health is seeking a Sr. Director of Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Security to lead a centralized team during the company's transformation into an AI-native platform. This role encompasses four key domains: Cloud Infrastructure, Data Infrastructure, Security Engineering, and Platform/Shared Services. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with AI Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Product leadership to build and maintain the infrastructure that supports Komodo's AI-driven initiatives.
The Sr. Director will be responsible for owning the architecture, reliability, and cost efficiency of Komodo's cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS and GCP, driving full Infrastructure as Code (IaC) coverage, and leading Kubernetes operations at scale. They will oversee data infrastructure operations, cost governance, and security hardening, partnering with Data Product Engineering to modernize data delivery infrastructure. Additionally, the role includes leading security posture management across cloud, application, and identity layers, defining and implementing cost-per-unit metrics, and operating internal developer platforms to improve engineering velocity. The director will also manage incident response processes and lead a globally distributed team of engineers.
Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering, with a minimum of 3 years leading teams in AI/ML-intensive environments. Hands-on experience with AI workload infrastructure, including LLM serving, agent orchestration, GPU compute, or ML pipelines, is essential. Deep expertise in AWS and production Kubernetes, strong IaC discipline with tools like Terraform, and a proven track record in driving significant cloud cost reductions through systematic FinOps practices are required. Practical experience in security and compliance management, strong executive communication skills, and active use of AI tools in workflow are also necessary.
The position offers a competitive salary range, with annual base pay between $245,000 and $305,000 for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City, and between $225,000 and $270,000 for all other U.S. locations. Additional compensation may include performance-based bonuses and equity awards.
