Sr Manager, Software Engineering
The Senior Manager of Software Engineering at PlayStation Global will lead the Client Experiences team, focusing on developing a unified platform that powers services and experiences across consoles, clients, and the cloud. This role involves managing technical strategy, people leadership, and execution to scale the team and its capabilities. The position is based in San Mateo, CA, with a hybrid work arrangement.
Key responsibilities include leading and growing a dedicated client engineering team to deliver roadmaps prioritizing user delight, modularity, multi-platform architecture, and global scalability. The role requires evangelizing the multi-platform strategy across PlayStation by partnering closely with engineering leaders to align on integration, adoption, and long-term technical direction. Additionally, the manager will build and lead high-impact teams, mentor engineers, define platform architecture, set performance and reliability KPIs, and drive continuous improvement in developer tooling and service performance.
The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent, with over 5 years of experience leading client, mobile, or web teams in engineering leadership roles, including at least 2 years managing managers and senior staff. A strong technical background in software development is essential, with proven success in building and shipping mobile and desktop applications. Experience with React Native, native mobile technologies (iOS/iPadOS), and familiarity with desktop architectures like Windows and MacOS are required. The candidate should also have a track record of recruiting, scaling, and retaining engineering talent in a high-growth environment, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $246,600 to $369,800 USD, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus and top-tier benefits package.
