Staff Attorney - Eviction Prevention/Foreclosure

LawNY® is seeking a Staff Attorney to join its Eviction Prevention Unit, focusing on providing free legal assistance to individuals facing eviction and foreclosure in Western New York. As part of a dedicated team, the attorney will work to prevent homelessness and promote housing stability for vulnerable populations.

In this role, the Staff Attorney will represent clients in eviction and foreclosure proceedings, negotiate with landlords and lenders, and provide legal advice to prevent housing loss. The attorney will also engage in community outreach and education to raise awareness about tenants' rights and available resources.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and be admitted to practice law in New York State. Experience in housing law, particularly eviction and foreclosure defense, is preferred. Strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to public service are essential.
