Graphcore is seeking an experienced Staff Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Platform Team in Bristol, UK. This role involves developing and deploying cloud services on cutting-edge AI systems, collaborating closely with Software Platform, Datacentre Operations, and Product Development teams. The position focuses on integrating, validating, benchmarking, optimizing, and developing high-performance AI solutions, including in-house AI systems and off-the-shelf high-performance servers, switches, and storage solutions.

Key responsibilities include operating and extending existing OpenStack-based cloud services, developing and operating end-user services, building automation for metrics collection and analysis, maintaining and operating AI systems in private clouds, configuring and testing new AI hardware and systems using Continuous Deployment and Infrastructure-as-Code, driving corrective actions for system issues, and integrating third-party products into the Cloud Reference Design.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant subject, solid infrastructure or IT experience with a proven track record as an individual contributor, experience managing or operating on-premises or private-cloud environments, proficiency in Linux scripting (bash and Python), strong Linux system administration skills (Ubuntu, RHEL and variants), experience with version control systems (preferably Git), experience with Continuous Integration or testing pipelines using GitLab, GitHub, or similar, hands-on experience deploying services into public or private clouds using Infrastructure-as-Code, a solid understanding of cloud service technologies, experience with Infrastructure-as-Code automation tools (e.g., Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, Packer), and experience with container deployment and management tools (e.g., Docker, Podman, Apptainer).
